President Trump Welcomes Families of Injured Guard Personnel to the White House
President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the executive mansion.
He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a White House visit for the loved ones of both individuals of the state National Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president addressed the press. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Mourners assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to honor Sarah.
Both the soldiers had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to support public safety in the capital.

“Sarah was the individual that educators desired. She behaved with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that inspired those around her,” the principal, the principal of her former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, caring and always eager to support those in need.”

Officials have charged a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and two counts of violent assault while armed.
The event led the Trump administration to suspend refugee claims and cease providing entry permits to possessors of travel documents.

Wolfe, a resident of the city, enlisted in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the AP.
He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader the governor said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a law enforcement officer with excellence, according to the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had fortitude,” the governor told the gathering at the service. “Though her life ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
