Recent Details Emerge Concerning the Location of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies
New information has come to light about the untimely demises of renowned director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their residence home on Sunday.
The Alarm
A source indicates referencing a family associate, a practitioner arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after failing to get inside the home. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.
After gaining access to the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her contacted 911. Subsequently, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently being held and is ineligible for bail.
Disputed Reports
The person close to the family questioned several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that juncture.
The source also disputed published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. The source claimed the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction also extends to reports of alleged "unstable" behavior by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. While the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.
Ongoing Inquiry Timeline
According to law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some accounts indicated the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
