English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

These three athletes have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a historic innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The finalists were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The champion will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The event will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.

The Football Star

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She came off the bench to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
